1 Effective SEO Tip!

February 1, 2011 Leave a comment

I’ve been busy this past few months since it is the holiday season but now I am back to give you more tips and tricks to make your way for your site’s effectivity.

While trying my way to article writing, I found out that there is one effective way of optimizing your site for best SEO (Search Engine Optimization) result and that is through your keywords. When you are blogging about SEO Tips, then it is wise to use those words frequently and make it bold to give it more importance. Just like what you are seeing here right now. You will see my keywords in bold letters.

Why is it important to make your keywords in bold?

Making it bold in your article means that you are giving importance about that matter. The more frequent you use that keyword, the more importance you are giving into it which results better search engine visibility.

Keywords are used by search engines and with these keywords you will find your potential clients which also boosts your sales and productivity. It seems using your keywords repititively in one article depreciates or lessens its importance, I’ll try to research about it.

How I Achieved PR3!

October 27, 2010 1 comment

My other blogs’ PR has just been updated. XleonTips which is about tips about Information Technology, computer software, blogging and earning money online has lost its PR1. It is quite disappointing after all the efforts and investment I made for it to boost.  Surprisingly, my other other blog Baul ni Noel has just been ranked as well and I am glad that it is not just PR1 but PR3 (here is the PR Calculation in case you wonder what PR3 means)

Well, effortlessly I’ve done the right thing at Baul ni Noel blog. It truly helps a blog when you put your heart into it and most of all –be friendly and not to be rude. Basically, with my Baul ni Noel blog -I just be myself and blog whatever is on my mind.

Here are the following facts that proved to help my blog successful in gaining populatity.

  • Be Friendly – answer comments to your post with honesty and politeness.
  • Add your Blog on your Social Networks – Facebook is the most common social networking site and the most famous which is also a great source of traffic for everyone. I will make a post on how you could do this in my other blog – XleonTips.
  • Post honest opinions only – Of course who would believe braggers and those people who only wanted attention. Even for  a sponsored review, I always make it a point to be honest and be constructive in my opinion –it matters to your readers believe me.
  • Join Other Social Networks and introduce your blog/site. This will be more effective if you are joining a social network with the same interest or niche as your blog/site. This is a great source of traffic.
  • Blog hop and Comment– sometimes I tend to be lazy at this but the amazing thing is whenever I find an interesting article, I always make a comment. I usually comment on some articles of my interest specially if the topic is about a confusion on something that I really know – I try to help those people as much as I can.
  • Having Friends – joining social networks may help you gain possible visitors to your website but having friends is a different thing. You may have better opinions if you gain friends on the social networks you are joining.
  • Unique and Good Quality Articles – you may have all the qualities listed above but the most important thing to have in order to gain PageRank is having a unique, up-to-date and good quality articles. Now, what makes an article a good quality article? It should be original and has a very honest content. Make sure to also double check spelling errors and grammars.

These qualities have greatly affected my websites content and believe me, I’ve been blogging for years but the minute I realized these qualities, I’ve seen results and not just results -quality results.

Taking Advantage of EntreCard

October 11, 2010 Leave a comment

First of all, I would like to congratulate EntreCard for a job well done. Here is yet another experience I’d like to share to everyone. First of all, to all who have no idea of what is EntreCard.

What is EntreCard?

It’s a free blogging network that helps you build traffic, get more readers, and network with other bloggers. You put a 125×125 widget on your blog and you can earn “EC credits” when members visit your blog. You can use the “credits” to purchase advertising on other blogs in our network.

[This came from EntreCard website]

As I collect information about my website/blog statistics using Google Analytics and Blogger Stats, I found out that EntreCard is giving me traffics as well. Although the most traffic I got is from Adgitize (which I am an advertiser), EntreCard made it to the second. This made me realize that EntreCard, as they claimed “helps you build traffic, get more readers, and network with other bloggers” -really is the truth. I don’t know about others out there but I do really get good traffic from them and the nice thing about it is that Adsense tracks it as a good source of traffic.

So how can we take advantage of EC?

If you are selling products at your site / blog, it may be a good idea to start with EC for free. Here is how you’ll get traffic.

Dropping – by dropping to the blogs/sites of the same niche as your site/blog there is a possibility of a drop-back at your site.

Advertising – by using your credits to advertise at the blogs/site with the same niche as yours. There is also a possibility of gaining a PageRank and SEO if you could interact to famous blogs/sites listed in the same category as yours and have a backlink from them. Best if you have a very nice 125×125 button. Don’t use women buttons (specially daring), most droppers know it is just a tactic to make people click your button. Like Google’s Adsense, people already know who to ignore and those babes on a button is one of them.

Proven Tactics for PR

XLEONTIPS: Simply the Best Birthday Gift

XLEONTIPS Birthday Give-Away Contest

While researching about PR (PageRank), I stumbled upon an article about how you can improve your site’s PR. One of the author’s suggestion was to be friendly. You can start by commenting on other blogs of your interest and already has reputation -that is PR. The author also advised that once you have earned a few crowd (friends or regular readers) to conduct a contest. Be creative in the contest and give a nice reward which is usually in a form of money or merchandise. I usually see people giving away domain names + web hosting, some give-away a few of their products as well.

The contest requirements will be something beneficial to you. Subscribe to your feeds, follow you at Google connect, add you to their blogroll, make a blog review. All these things will be beneficial to the popularity of your website/blog. If it will be your first time to conduct a contest, I advice to give a special prize to the person who has referred the most people in your contest -just a way to inspire people on giving the words. Remember, in marketing a product – “Word of Mouth” is the best marketing tool.

Okay, so here is what I did. Since my wife is going to have her birthday and most of my audience are moms (no, I am not a mom  – I’m a Dad lol!), I have decided to conduct a contest about XLEON TIPS: Simply The Best Birthday Gift Contest!.  The reason moms are my audience is because I have a blog about family and they are also Filipinos like me. Usually we are fascinated by our fellow-countryman’s blog whatever the topic is. Why? I don’t know -it just feels that way.

Today will be the last day of the contest and all the winners will be drawn tomorrow. And the good news is —IT WORKED! I mean the contest made my other blog PR1. Well, that is just one way of proving things. It cost me almost $100 (almost) but I think it is worth it. I have also optimized that blog for SEO and PR so which means- my labor is not in vain.

By the way, here are the things I optimized in my blog:

  • Removed some sponsors who buy advertisement and or articles.
  • Optimized the speed by removing un-necessary widgets.
  • Added a navigation menu.
  • Re-tagged previous posts.
  • Removed “taboo words” in the widgets (eg. Sponsor, Advertisement -anything that looks like I am selling ads)
  • Redesigned the blog and choose a new layout.
  • And some other things inside the code that may affect the blog’s speed.
  • I am also placing a CSS menu on top but I am still quite busy on other things.

All of the things mentioned about greatly influences the performance of your site and at the same time visibility of your site. PR blogging and SEO blogging maybe quite complicated but once you get a hang of it, it will be like a bread and butter to you. My current issue right now is WordPress related -I dunno where to place my meta-tags for my Google Analytics and Google Webmaster Tools. I just received a $100 Adwords coupon from Google and I intend to use it wisely so before I use it, I like everything in its place. So I’ll be researching about that for now. Hope you all learned a lesson or two here.

PR Calculation

September 24, 2010 Leave a comment

I’ve been looking all over the internet to find how PR (PageRank) is calculated and here is what I have found out.

Page Rank Calculation
Start End Median Median Links Links Links Links
PR Range Range Value PR Passed for PR5 for PR6 for PR7 for PR8

1 6 30 15 0.37 13,442 73,931 406,621 2,236,418
2 30 164 82 2.06 2,444 13,442 73,931 406,621

9 4,605,367 24,901,372 12,540,364 313,509.09 0.0161 0.088 0.486 2.671
10 25,329,516 136,957,543 68,972,000 1,724,300.01 0.0029 0.016 0.088 0.486
Assumption: 85% of_median_value_passed
Assumption: 40 links_per_page_average

(These are estimates only. This is for informational purposes only)

What is this information?
The information above gives you an accurate estimate of what your page rank would be, had all the pages linked to you been PR 1 to 10.
What do the ranges represent?
The “Start Range”, “End Range”, and “Median Value” show how many votes a website with that particular PageRank might have. Since one website may barely qualify to be a PR 5, it may have only 5,033 votes while a very strong PR 5 website might have 27,213 votes.

I found this information from here. I just think it’s best to put it here instead of looking for it again.

Adgitize Review

September 17, 2010 Leave a comment

This is NOT a sponsored review. This review is based from author’s personal experience as a Publisher and Advertiser at the said company.

Adgitize is an Ad Network, which also falls under Affiliate Marketing since they give compensation for every members’ effort in spreading or marketing their product.

As a publisher, you are compensated for what you normally do and that is blogging. The condition is to put their widget on your blog. As a publisher you can earn more cents in your account by blog-hopping and clicking on other publishers adgitize widget. One of the benefits in being a publisher is the chance to have lots of visitors to your site by registering your blog to the Preferred Publisher’s list for FREE. You only have to score 400 every 3 days to maintain your blog on the list.

You can surf up to 100 (50 for advertisers) sites in order to get an additional 100 points to your score. The total score of all the publishers will then be added to get your share ratio (which is your share of earnings). So if the profit to be shared is $1000 for that day and your score is 1% of the total publisher’s score, you’ll get a whopping $10 (you wish! lol!) – but if you did score that much, you’ll really get that much. As a publisher, earning a high score maybe very difficult – probably if you have a very high score in some aspects.

As an Advertiser, you will have a daily 100 points added to your score (a great boost to your share ratio) and you’ll have a random spot on the Adgitize widget (which means traffic to your site). You’ll also have points for the expressions you get from your widgets, so more exposure to your site means more points (same goes to Publishers). There is a great deal of exposure once your 125×125 button is added on the widget.

Pros

  • More traffic to your site (specially for advertisers – I really mean MORE TRAFFIC!)
  • For new bloggers, they could be paying more than your Google’s Adsense.
  • Gives you additional income.

Cons

  • Google Analytics will track a great value of bounce rate. Bounce rate is the number of people visiting your site that suddenly went uninterested in your site by hopping to another site hence the name “bounce“.
  • As an advertiser who wishes to earn his/her money back, it is a great pressure for him to always make a daily post to add 100 points. If the publisher doesn’t get atleast $0.47 earnings per day then they wont get their money back or atleast not the full amount of $14. This sometimes results into an unwanted or uninteresting post to the advertiser’s blog.

As far as I am concern, my main purpose was to drag people’s attention to my blog so I am in a win-win situation even if I don’t get my full $14 back.

One other great thing is – they honestly pay! (refer to my payment proofs) – This is not my referral link.

PageRanking Schedule

September 12, 2010 Leave a comment

Okay, I’ve been researching about the exact schedule date of Google’s next PageRank and here is what I’ve found out:

Google PageRank Update Schedule for the year 2010

First 2010 PageRank (PR) Update 31 March – 3  April 2010
